Sagana Nuts Limited (SNL) deals with macadamia nuts products processed using the finest selected macadamia raw materials.
AgDevCo’s $1.2m loan to Sagana Nuts Limited will fund the construction of a new factory and purchase of equipment that allows the company to increase its processing capacity from 2,000MT to 3,000MT. With the expansion, Sagana will be able to source nut-in-shell macadamia from an additional c. 1,000 smallholder farmers as well as increase volumes from the existing ones. The proposed investment will create about 100 new jobs.
AgDevCo has supported Sagana with TA for capacity building and the development and implementation of a good practice aligned Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) in line with AgDevCo’s Responsible Business Principles (RBPs) to work towards alignment with the IFC Performance Standards.
