Abel Boreto

Abel is an Investment Director at Novastar Ventures East Africa Advisors Limited, based in Nairobi. In this role, he facilitates equity investments in high-impact startups across Africa, with a focus on sectors including agritech, energy, smart logistics, electric mobility, financial services, food and grocery delivery, B2B e-commerce, healthcare, and education.In addition to his work at Novastar, Abel serves as an Investment Committee Member for both Chui Ventures and FrontEnd Ventures.
Prior to joining Novastar in 2019, Abel co-founded and successfully exited a dairy processing and retail distribution SME business in Eldoret, Kenya. The business introduced automated milk vending machines in its retail outlets, significantly improving access to affordable, high-quality dairy products for low-income consumers.
Earlier in his career, Abel worked as a Credit Research Analyst at Bloomberg L.P. in Princeton, New Jersey. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard College, USA.
