Transformational farm in Zambia's Northern Province growing early generation seed potatoes and seed maize on irrigated land.
AgDevCo’s investment was used to establish a fully operational early generation seed potato farm comprising land development, staff housing, irrigation, securing of mains electricity and the purchase of farm equipment, sheds, cold stores, back up generators and processing machinery.
Seed potatoes are grown in the winter (dry season), when the risk of disease and pest infestation is at its lowest and seed maize is grown in summer. The potatoes are stored in climate-controlled warehouses and distributed to farmers the following dry season.
AgDevCo has supported Saise with TA with financial and operational management via consultants including capacity building for staff.
