Rebecca Sankar
Managing Director, Head of East Region
Rebecca is responsible for managing the portfolio and pipeline investments in the East Region. She has over 18 years of experience in agri-business and finance in emerging markets with the last 13 years being focused on Africa. She has held several roles at AgDevCo; she set-up our operations in Kenya (2020) and Uganda (2015); led investments in Malawi (2014); and was Portfolio Manager for the Group in the early years which included fundraising, investor relations and reporting. Prior to AgDevCo, she helped to manage the family’s rice farming, milling and exporting company in South America. Rebecca has a BBA in Finance, a MSc in Development Studies and a MBA from INSEAD.
Other current positions: Rebecca is a member of AgDevCo’s Executive Committee. She also holds a number of observer and board positions in AgDevCo’s investee companies.
