Jim was born in Malawi and educated in Zimbabwe and graduated with a Diploma in Agriculture. He has over 40 years’ experience and comes from an agricultural background, initially in the production of coffee, tea, macadamia, tobacco and livestock. Jim then set up his own business in agricultural input procurement, consulting and financing agricultural development with a $12m credit line from Citibank. He consulted across many countries predominantly in Southern Africa, but also covered DRC and Ghana. Jim initially consulted to AgDevCo in 2011, then opened the Malawi office in 2013 and became Managing Director in 2019. He relocated from Malawi to Cape Town in 2022 and established the new South Region Office.
