Our role

AgDevCo’s investment is financing the development of the 1 MW Suma Hydro ‘run of river’ hydroelectric project. The project supplies electricity to a number of surrounding rural villages currently 'off-grid’ and, through supply into the national grid via TANESCO, guarantees power to tea and other businesses on the network. Overall it is expected the project will benefit over 6,000 individuals directly and up to 12,000 individuals indirectly through the provision of reliable power.
