SDU role

Moz-Agri’s commercial success is dependent on the year-round supply of goats. AgDevCo’s SDU team is focusing its support on Moz-Agri’s smallholder outgrower scheme and aims to benefit up to 6,000 livestock farmers. By helping lead farmers (microentrepreneurs) with business planning, five centralised buying hubs are being set up, which will remove transportation bottlenecks, provide a transparent, local market for goats, become a central hub for improved genetics and provide extension services for training on good livestock practices.
