Our role

Eco Farm's organic sugar project includes renting a large area of land to sugarcane outgrowers, installing an irrigation system and building the region’s only sugar mill. This project is capital intensive and requires financial and organisational support, the contract farming element being crucial to the project. AgDevCo is providing both technical assistance and loans to finance the capital expenditure for irrigation and working capital. AgDevCo holds a 25% equity stake, and has been instrumental in leveraging additional investor funding of $17.7m.
