USAID is the United States’ government agency for the provision of economic and humanitarian assistance worldwide, which has been operating for over 40 years. USAID is co-investing $290,000 with AgDevCo and the Government of Ghana to develop profitable irrigation schemes in Ghana to further drive economic growth, reduce poverty and enhance food security.
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation has been making grants since 1967 to solve social and environmental problems in the United States and around the world. The Hewlett Foundation has provided AgDevCo with a $400,000 grant to promote the Beira Agricultural Growth Corridor initiative in Mozambique.
The Rockefeller Foundation
The Rockefeller Foundation supports work that expands opportunity and strengthens resilience to social, economic, health and environmental challenges—affirming its pioneering philanthropic mission since 1913 to promote the well-being of humanity. The Rockefeller Foundation has awarded AgDevCo $250,000 to help develop its pilot projects for sustainable agri-business opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa, benefiting smallholder farmers in the region.
Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA)
AGRA works to achieve food security and prosperity in Africa through the promotion of rapid, sustainable agriculture growth based on smallholder farmers. AGRA has expressed its support for AgDevCo and its desire to create an ongoing partnership between the organisations as they have common goals.
Department for International Development (DfID)
DfID is the UK Government Department responsible for promoting development and the reduction of poverty around the world. DfID has provided an ‘Accountable Grant Arrangement’ of up to £6,500,000 for AgDevCo’s Beira Agricultural Growth Corridor project in Mozambique.
Norwegian Embassy in Maputo
Mozambique is one of the countries that receives the most development assistance from Norway and has been one of Norway’s main partner countries in development cooperation since 1977. The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Royal Norwegian Embassy have committed $1,850,000 to InfraCo and AgDevCo, for their Beira Agricultural Growth Corridor project in Mozambique.
The Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF)
AECF is a private sector fund, backed by some of the biggest names in development finance and hosted by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). Their aim is to encourage private sector companies to compete for investment support for new and innovative business ideas. AECF has awarded AgDevCo’s innovative Phoenix Seeds Project a $800,000 repayable grant.
Small Foundation
Small Foundation aims to help provide opportunities to food-insecure rural African families that enable them to gain economic independence through income generation. Through access to knowledge, finance, technology and markets, on a continent-wide scale, Small Foundation creates a set of opportunities for subsistence farming communities. Small Foundation has provided AgDevCo with €2.5 million of grant funding over 5 years, to fund its core operations.
