Janine Ampulire Mwesigye

Independent Technical Assistance Committee (TAC) member

Janine has over 14 years of experience in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), development impact management and research, as well as knowledge management/communications. She is currently Senior Manager-Research, Evidence & Insights at FSD Africa (a UKAid-funded development agency focused on strengthening financial markets across sub-Saharan Africa). Prior to FSD Africa, she worked at Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR; where she supported savings & credit cooperatives benefiting smallholders), CARE International (where she managed a women’s empowerment project), Rswitch Rwanda (an e-payment platform) and International Finance Corporation (IFC). She also acquired technical knowledge in impact investing and sustainable finance strategies, including carbon and capital markets, through positions held at FSD Africa and AFR. She is an independent Technical Assistance Committee (TAC) member at AgDevCo. She also served on the East Africa Regional Board for the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) and chaired the FSD network’s M&E community of practice. She holds a BSc in Quantitative Economics and an MSc in Economic Policy Management, both from Makerere University in Uganda. She also has a diploma in Sustainable Business Management from the Swedish Institute and certification in Sustainable Finance from the University of Cambridge.
